Run for the Toad

Sept. 29 marks the 11th year of Run for the Toad at the Pinehurst Lake Conservation Area.

The 25 and 50km trail race includes runners and walkers from many provinces and states who participate in this event, which  is Canada’s biggest trail event.

Online registration closes when the limit of 1,400 has been reached. For more information check out the website runforthetoad.com.

Grand River Spey Clave

On Sept. 29 and 30 demonstrations and instruction will be available in Traditional, Skagit, and Scandinavian Spey techniques at Bean Park in Paris.

The Spey Cleve website has more details, including biographies of the instructors.

Around 250 participants are expected at this event, and early arrival helps when it comes to finding a parking spot. If the river conditions are safe, then there will be lots of opportunities for on-stream testing of Spey equipment. Donations will go to Friends of the Grand River to improve the fishery.
