Seniors community Canada Day celebration

GUELPH – The Silver Maple Seniors Community and the Residents of St. Joseph’s, located in the north end of Guelph, held a Canada Day celebration within the community. Most people dressed in red and white showing their patriotism. Some people wore fancy headgear, flashing necklaces and eyeglasses. One of the seniors wore headgear, white Canada Day T-shirt, white shorts draped with a Canada Day tablecloth over them and Canada Day sandals. The event kicked off with everyone singing O  Canada. The seniors then feasted on a wonderful buffet lunch of salads, cheese and crackers, cold luncheon meats, rolls, hot appetizers, meatballs, lasagna, cabbage rolls, punch and coffee followed with cupcakes and cake for dessert. The residents enjoyed an afternoon mingling and socializing with their neighbours, officials say.
