Seniors’ Centre for Excellence hosts May programs for northern Wellington County residents

WELLINGTON CTY – With May underway the Seniors’ Centre for excellence is keeping the senior community busy across Mapleton, Minto and Wellington North. 

Below is a list of the upcoming events.

– May 17 at 12pm, Fabulous ‘50s and ‘60s at the Clifford United Church; join Kyle Smith from the Wellington County Museum and Archives to remember and share your memories of these two decades;

– May 23 at 11:30am, Cooking Matters at Harriston Arena; Jenny, a dietitian from the Minto-Mapleton FHT will lead this cooking class featuring simple, easy, healthy and tasty recipes, free lunch, call 519-638-2110  to register;

– May 27 at 2pm, Tidying Up event hosted at the Drayton library, call 519-638-3788 to register;

– May 29 at 12pm, Musical Entertainment; join local artist Tonia-Joy Skipper as she sings your favourite songs;

– May 29 at 10am,  Friendship Circle at  Palmerston United Church; come and enjoy a hot cup of coffee or tea; all are welcome;

– May 30 at 12pm, Perspectives from Abroad; experience the cultural norms, smell the aromas of the streets of Jordan, and learn how to speak Arabic, lunch $6;

– Mondays at 10am, Yoga at the Palmerston United Church; join Kerry Ammerman as she facilitates this class that may increase your flexibility; $5 per class;

– Mondays at 10am, line dancing at the Harriston Arena, $3 per class; 

– Tuesdays from 10:30-11:30am  at the Mount Forest Pentecostal Church, Friendship Circle; 

– Tuesdays at the Harriston Train Station, Harriston Outdoor Shuffleboard League, starts May 21 at 7pm, cost only $25 before June 1, call 519-338-2511 ext. 240 for more information.
