Seaman to speak on heritage conservation

Conservation of local heritage has been cited as a top priority of citizens of Guelph and Wellington County  – as expressed through workshops and questionnaires.

But heritage is at risk if the community is complacent about implementing the legislative means and municipal responsibilities of preserving its built heritage and cultural spaces, states a recent release issued by Beverley Cairns.

On Nov. 20 at 7:30pm at the Elora Centre for the Arts, the Guelph/Wellington branch of Architectural Conservancy of Ontario (ACO) will host urban planner and heritage conservation advocate Michael Seaman .

He will speak on heritage conservation as an essential tool for achieving municipal urban planning and economic development objectives

Seaman says, “I believe that a positive and inspiring urban environment, with appreciation for our heritage contributes in a significant way to a strong quality of life and a healthy community.”

Admission is free to this public lecture.
