The Environmental Sculpture Festival was blessed with good weather on June 14 and visitors were able to wander amongst the flowering trees and shrubs of the Elora Poetry Centre and discover many art works by local sculptors.

The initiative came out of a cruel winter that broke many trees, boughs, branches and left the area looking destitute.

Artists Geoffrey Stevens, Jerry Prager, Elana Levine, Jim Reed and Peter Skoggard collected materials from many sources, such as the freezing spring waters of the river, including pieces of wood, rocks, dogwood twigs and pine cones to create unusual forms.

A light lunch was provided by local merchants, Fountainhead Café of Fergus, Mill Street Bakery & Bistro, Dar’s Country Market and Santé of Elora.

Also that day the West Meets East exhibition opened. Call  519-846-2551 to book a viewing appointment or for  more information.
