It’s been 35 years in the making, but two traditions for which Centre Wellington is famous are meeting at the Sportsplex here on Aug. 8, when Canada’s premier chorale ensemble performs at Canada’s oldest three-day Scottish festival.

The Elora Festival Singers bring their ethereal voices to the Fergus Scottish Festival’s renowned military tattoo.

Lest we forget

In this, the 100th anniversary of Canada’s participation in the First World War, it is perhaps ironic to note that the first British military tattoo occurred in Flanders almost three centuries ago.

So it is fitting that the Elora Festival Singers bring Hugh Brewster’s acclaimed original work Canada, Fall In to the tattoo.

Tickets for friday’s tattoo are $25 for adults and $20 for youth and seniors. Children under 12 are free. Tickets may be pre-ordered through www.fergusscottishfestival.com or by calling 519-787-0099 or toll free at 866-871-9442.

The tattoo begins at 8pm, and the gates open at 3pm.
