Scottish Festival contributes $282,000 to Centre Wellington

It is estimated that the 2009-2010 Festival season the Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games contributed $282,275 to local businesses and community organizations throughout Centre Wellington.

The festival, taking place the second full weekend every August, continually strives to benefit Centre Wellington.

By working with community organizations and local businesses, and hiring local human resources, Festival organizers believe they have done just that.

Both Past President Deb Dalziel and the newly elected Festival President, Warren Trask, are proud of the 2009-2010 accomplishments.

“I am honoured and pleased to know that this astounding Festival has contributed to the Centre Wellington community with such impact,” said Dalziel.

“The volunteers, Chairs, Board and staff have much to celebrate, as these partnerships continue to strengthen our community as a whole,” agreed Trask.

The 66th Fergus Scottish Festival and Highland Games will take place Aug. 12-14, 2011. Visit www.fergusscottishfestival.com to learn how you can celebrate Scotland… without the airfare.
