Schools raised $118,655 in 2010 Terry Fox run

Upper Grand District School Board schools raised $118,655 during the 2010 Terry Fox Run.

Leading the way for secondary school category was Centennial Collegiate Vocational Institute, which brought in $11,959. John McCrae Public School was first in the elementary with $5,944. 

Second place finishers were John F. Ross CVI, with $10,900 and Kortright Hills Public School with $5,478.

Erin District High School, with $5,991, and Kortright Hills Public School with $5,478, earned the third place finish in the secondary and elementary categories.

As of the middle of April, 41 Upper Grand schools have already registered for the 2011 National School Run Day which will be held on Sept. 28.

The board  has supported the run for the past three decades. Last year 3,796 schools across Canada participated in fund raising events providing thousands of students with the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer.
