SCHMIDT, Rhoda formerly of Elmwood, passed away peacefully at Hanover & District Hospital on Thursday, September 28, 2017. She was 82. Born on March 18, 1935 in West Luther to the late Harold and Margaret (nee Ridsdale) Densmore. Rhoda was employed as a Banker with Bank of Nova Scotia for many years. She had a passion for playing cards and joined many groups including Elmwood Seniors and the Hanover Seniors Group. Survived by husband Paul Schmidt, of Hanover. Loved mother of Debra (David) Rayburn of Toronto, Bryan (Marilyn) Halls of Mccullough Lake, Sharon (Edward) Waite, Terry Halls both of Fergus, Tom (Annetta) Halls of Calgary and step children Selena Schmidt of Guelph and Denise Schmidt of Acton and their families. Loved grandmother of Kyle (Shannon) Halls, Kimberley Halls, Katlyn Halls, Ricardo Rayburn, Shianne Halls, Laurenne Halls, Naomi Halls, Andrew Halls, Nathen (Kendra) Waite and Nicole Waite, along with great grandchildren Kayleb, Tayler, Melia and Hennessey Halls. Dear sister of Grant Densmore of Arthur. Predeceased by her sister Esther Edwards, brothers Ross, Orville, Manley, Donald and Alvin Densmore. To honour her wishes, cremation has taken place and a Private Memorial Service will be held at a later date. Inurnment in Hanover Columbarium, Hanover. Memorial donations to the Canadian Cancer Society were appreciated as expressions of sympathy. Arrangements entrusted to the care of Mighton Funeral Home, Hanover.
