Sargent, John Ernest (Jack); Passed away peacefully at the Wellington Terrace early on Sunday, April 22, 2012 in his 90th year. Beloved husband of Mary (Nee: Meiklejohn) for 69 years. Devoted father of Robert (Doreen) of Elora, Patricia of Stratford, PEI and Douglas of Palmerston and daughter-in-law Mary of Belwood. Loving grandfather of Trevor (Tammy) of Elmira and David (Debbie) of Hawkesville. Great grandfather of Maggie, Annie, Emily and Kayla. Predeceased by his parents, Daniel F. Sargent (1948) and Mary (Nee: Rea) (1988), as well as his brother Rea (1971). Jack will be fondly remembered by his cousins, nieces and nephews as well as many many friends. Jack operated the family farm at Belwood for several decades and ran school buses in West Garafraxa for 30 years. He served at St. John’s United Church, Belwood all his life. Visitation for Jack was held at the Graham Giddy Funeral Home, Fergus, on Wednesday, April 25th, from 2-4 and 7-9pm. A Funeral service was held at St. John’s United Church on Queen St. in Belwood on Thursday, April 26th at 11am. The family has requested that donations be directed towards St. John’s United Church.
