Rotary aids food bank with cash

The Rotary Club of Fergus-Elora had an early fundraiser to help the Centre Wellington Food Bank defray the costs of the move to its new location in the Fergus Marketplace.

The move will allow the food bank to meet the ever increasing demand on its resources.

The Rotarians, realizing the great need within the community, supported the food bank by collecting $3,700.

That was matched by Scotiabank up to $3,000, creating a final total of $6,700, allowing the food bank to purchase much needed shelving units. The money also covered the costs of building walls, purchasing building materials, and the setting up of  a kitchen.

The early fundraiser has helped create a seamless move, as well as freeing up additional money to purchase much needed food.
