Rockwood condo plan moving ahead

Guelph-Eramosa has given the green light for an 85-townhouse plan by Charleston Homes as part of its Noble Ridge subdivision in Rockwood.

Council approved a draft plan of condominium presented by planning consultant  Bernie Hermsen at its June 2 meeting.

Despite concerns about parking from one councillor, Guelph-Eramosa has approved the site plan application for the portion of the subdivision that would see 85 townhouse units fronting onto private roadways on Juniper Street, Linden Avenue and Hickory Drive.

“The townhouses are arranged in blocks of three to five units and will contain a mix of single and double-car garages,” Hermsen said in his report. “Off-street parking is provided in four parking lots distributed throughout the development.”

The issue of parking was raised again at Monday evening’s council meeting. The developer and township have already agreed to rezoning requirements and site plan control.

“The submitted draft plan of condominium is for a standard condominium to permit development of the subject lands with townhouse dwellings in accordance with the approved site plan,” Hermsen  said in his report on the 8.73-acre development.

Council endorsed the plan.
