ROCKWOOD – Local elementary school students and member of the community will gather to honour the contributions of veterans in a Remembrance Day service in the village on Nov. 11.

The service, which will include the “special participation” of students from Rockwood Centennial Public School, will take place at the Rockwood Cenotaph on Main Street, beginning promptly at 10:55am, a news release stated.

The ceremony will be preceded by a parade, and people wishing to join are asked to assemble at the Rockwood Post Office on Guelph Street between 10:30 and 10:40am. The procession will then make its way from there to the cenotaph.

Following the service, attendees are invited to gather for refreshments at St. John’s Anglican Church.

Residents are reminded temporary road closures, including a portion of Highway 7, will be in effect.
