Rockwood club crowns doubles champs
As Rockwood tennis club held its men’s and women’s doubles tournaments on, Aug. 20, Glen Erikson and Frank Rodrigues won the men’s championship while Colette Macdonald and Kim Murphy captured the women’s title.
Erikson and Rodrigues defeated Alex Lopez and Dan Macdonald 9-8 in a tiebreaker in the men’s final.
Consolation winners after round-robin play were Gord Corcoran and Mike Corcoran.
Murphy and Macdonald won the women’s final 8-4 against Stephanie Saull and Mette Cornelisse.
The mixed doubles tournament matches are scheduled for this Saturday at the Rockwood courts.
