Our second meeting was held at the Guelph Lake Veterinary Hospital. First off, Stephanie started the meeting with the pledge and did roll call. Roll call was to say your name and what animals you have. Then the secretary and press reports were read. Our other specialist (Dr. Scott Gardiner) got right into it and showed us before/after pictures of patients and told us what was wrong. We asked some questions and started with our activity which was to guess what items were and what they were used for or where they came from, what was wrong with them, etc. We also had a brief tour of the surgical room.

Next, Dr. Scott Gardiner talked about how he would examine a cat. He shaved a part of our cat’s leg and put a tourniquet on (it is used to cut off some circulation to the body part to make the veins more visible) to show us the veins. We talked about what organs are in the torso of a cat. Finally, we closed the meeting with the motto and then Cole Hannam; our youth leader played a game with us until our rides came.
