Riverhawks host 'try lacrosse' event

Give it a try – The Centre Wellington Minor Lacrosse Riverhawks hosted an event to encourage new players to give the sport a try on Feb. 9 at the Centre Wellington Community Sportsplex in Fergus. Organizers said they had an overwhelming response, with more than 55 players attending the session. The league will host another event on Feb. 19 from 2 to 4pm at the sportsplex and all youth are welcome to attend. The league will also host the CW Minor Lacrosse Expo on Feb. 25, from 11am to 1pm at the sportsplex, with the Riverhawks executive arranging the expo to cover a range of lacrosse-related issues and topics. Athletes are invited to attend and meet the Riverhawks executive, network with lacrosse peers, learn the history of the game, and details about post-secondary education opportunities with the sport. Topics such as mental health and concussion treatments will also be included. Guest speakers will be featured. Registration and information can be found online at cwminorlacrosse.ca.
