Councillors here do not want “a river runs through it” to be the new description of part of Sideroad 10 in Wellington North.

A works committee report stated, “The river makes a bend just north of County Road 109 and continues to erode the sandy bank, causing trees to fall into the river each year and the river gets closer to the road allowance.”

It added, “During the summer, it is planned to contact the Grand River Conservation Authority and review the situation with our engineer.”

Works Superintendent Gary Williams predicted that, “It will become a serious problem if we don’t do something with it.”
