Rik Emmet salutes Clapton at River Run on April 23

River Run Centre  presents Rik Emmett on April 23 at 8pm in Emmett Plays Clapton.

Emmett is famous for his role in the legendary rock trio Triumph, and he is a master guitarist with one of the most distinctive voices in rock and roll.

He pays tribute to one of his personal guitar heroes in an evening of Eric Clapton’s classic songs.

After three decades in the music business, Emmett has received his fair share of gold and platinum awards.

Highlights amongst the many recognitions include: Best Guitarist at the 1981 Junos; Best Smooth Jazz Guitarist in 2005; and inductions into the Canadian Rock Hall of Fame in 1993, the Music Industry Hall of Fame in 2007, and the Junos Hall of Fame in 2008.

In Emmett Plays Clapton the audience will witness what an inspiration Clapton has been for Emmett, who started playing the British rocker’s music when he was a boy. The show follows Clapton’s full career, from the early stages of Cream and Blind Faith all the way to more recent solo hits like Tears in Heaven.
