Rifle, air guns stolen in Rockwood break-in

ROCKWOOD – Police are looking for help after a rifle and several air guns were stolen during a break-in here.

On Aug. 3 at about 6:30am, Wellington County OPP was called to a residence on Christie Street in Rockwood.

Police say that sometime overnight the suspect(s) entered a secure trailer and stole a metal gun locker that contained the following items:

  • black .22 caliber semi-automatic rifle with a wooden stock;
  • ammunition;
  • black air rifle with a wooden stock;
  • black air pistol with a 10-inch barrel with a wooden grip; and
  • black CO2 revolver-style air pistol.

A variety of construction tools were also stolen, police added.

“Several vehicles on Kaine Hill Drive were also entered and property stolen over the long weekend,” police stated.

OPP officials “want to remind residents to report any suspicious activity or incidents to police immediately.

“Your information may help to interrupt a potential crime, help to identify a crime trend, suspect, or prevent further crimes.”
