Ridler, Gordon Homer; Of R.R.#2, Guelph, passed away peacefully at the Guelph General Hospital on Sunday, May 24, 2009, in his 94th year. Longtime employee of CNR. Served in the Canadian Armed Forces in the Medical Corps during the Second World War. Longtime and well respected poultry fancier and judge in Canada and the United States. Beloved husband of the late Cavell (1994). Loved father of the late Bruce and wife Joan Ridler, Robert (Carolyn) Ridler, Jane (George) McLachrie, the late Wayne and wife Sandra Ridler, John Ridler and Peter (Penny) Ridler. Loving grandfather of ten. Great grandfather of many. Dear brother of the late Gladys Foster. Friends were received at the WALL-CUSTANCE FUNERAL HOME & CHAPEL, 206 Norfolk St., Guelph, Tuesday, May 26, 2009 (7-9pm) and one hour prior to the funeral service which was held in the funeral home chapel on Wednesday, May 27, 2009, at 11am. (Reception followed in the Wall-Custance Family Reception Centre). Memorial contributions to the Guelph Salvation Army Band, 1320 Gordon Street, Guelph N1L 1H3, would be appreciated.
