Resource centre offering limited services during COVID-19 crisis

WELLINGTON COUNTY – The Community Resource Centre of North and Centre Wellington will be using the county’s Ride Well program during COVID-19 restrictions – but only for essential drives, and on a limited basis.

Essential trips include rides to pharmacies, grocery stores, food banks, medical appointments and income tax pick-up and drop-off.

“We will continue to offer these drives at no cost to those who qualify for our program,” states a resource centre notice to the community.

However, it is increasingly difficult to find drivers, so patrons are asked to call two days in advance to book a ride.

The resource centre operates in Centre Wellington, Minto, Mapleton and Wellington North.

For more information call 519-843-7003 or email transportation@communityresourcecentre.org.

Ride Well drivers are equipped with disinfectant wipes and sanitizer to wipe down vehicles throughout the day. They are asking the public not to book a ride or to enter a Ride Well vehicle if they have a flu or cold, fever, cough, difficulty breathing or pneumonia, or if they’ve had contact with a COVID-19 patient.
