RCMPI presents Matilda at River Run, Nov. 23 to 27
GUELPH – Royal City Musical Productions Inc (RCMPI) will be presenting Matilda the Musical on the main stage at the River Run Centre in Guelph.
The show runs from Nov. 23 to 27.
Matilda the Musical is based on the 1988 children’s novel of the same name by Roald Dahl.
It was adapted by Dennis Kelly, with music and lyrics by Tim Minchin.
The musical’s narrative centres on Matilda, a precocious five-year-old girl with the gift of telekinesis, who loves reading, overcomes obstacles caused by her family and school, and helps her teacher to reclaim her life.
‘Anarchy of childhood’
“The story revels in the anarchy of childhood and the power of imagination,” RCMPI officials say.
“The show is packed with high-energy dance numbers and catchy songs.”
It was the winner of Best Musical awards in London, Australia and Broadway.
