; Suddenly at his home at R.R.#2, Arthur on Sunday, August 22, 2010 in his 74th year. Beloved husband of Betty of R.R. #2, Arthur. Dear father of Bonnie (Ted) Vinson of Edmonton, Linda (Randy) Hayes of Cargill, Darlene (Kevin) Lamont of Tiverton, Delores (Randy) Caudle of Dobbinton, Leonard Ransome of Edmonton, Leroy (Kathy) Ransome of Elmwood and Brian (Paula) Ransome of Arthur. Also father to Marilyn (Brent) Whitmeyer of London, Kent (Eileen) Smith of Priceville, Robert (Joan) Smith of Walkerton and Barbara (Brad) Hayes of Hanover. Loving papa of seventeen grandchildren and sixteen great grandchildren. Survived by his sisters Helene (George) Jones of Mt. Forest, June (Wilfred) Leno of Durham and brothers Floyd Ransome and Gladywin (Carolyn) Ransome, all of Durham. Lovingly remembered by the Rachar family. Predeceased by his first wife Inez Ransome (1988) and sister Sharon Rachar (1980). The family received friends at the Crawford Funeral Home 243 George St., Arthur on Tuesday, August 24, 2010 from 2-4 and 7-9pm. The funeral service was held from the Crawford Chapel on Wednesday, August 25, 2010 at 2pm. Interment Greenfield Cemetery, Arthur followed. Remembrances to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Ontario would be greatly appreciated by the family.
