Raceway launches announcer contest
Grand River Raceway has launched a contest to showcase aspiring race announcers.
The contest started May 30.
Audition race calls will be accepted until June 20. The top six entries will be posted at www.GrandRiverRaceway.com beginning June 25. Online voting will determine the three semifinalists, who will vie for the top spot with a live race call on July 18. Grand River Raceway patrons will determine the winner by secret ballot.
The champion is awarded $250 for calling a race during the raceway’s Industry Day – the marquee event of the season, featuring the $300,000 Battle of Waterloo. The winner and three friends are also treated to lunch in the Captain’s Quarters dining room.
