QUARTEL, Mary “She sprouted love like flowers, grew a garden in her mind, and even on the darkest days, from her smile the sun still shined.” Passed away at Louise Marshall Hospital on Thursday, June 2, 2016. Mary Quartel, of Mount Forest, at the age of 82. Beloved wife  of the late Harry Quartel. Much loved mother of Margaret Irvin of Kitchener, Beverley Quartel of Mount Forest and Richard Quartel of Mount Forest. Loving grandmother to Joshua, Justin and Sarah, Jennifer (Brandon), Nathan and Taylor and great-grandmother to Hudson and Harrison. Survived by her sisters Andrea (Gerry) de Waal, Ina (Jim) Mellegers, Grace (Harry) de Peuter and Joyce (John) VerKraik. Predeceased by her son John Quartel, her sons-in-law Edward Irvin and Paul Vinen and her sister Tiny de Gier. Mary will be missed by the  Quartel family. Friends called at First Baptist Church, 116 Fergus Street North, Mount Forest on Monday, June 6 from 2:00 to 4:00 and 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. A Celebration of Mary’s Life and Faith was held at First Baptist Church, Mount Forest on Tuesday, June 7 at 2:00 p.m. with Pastor Paul Droogers of the Drayton Christian Reformed Church officiating. In lieu of flowers memorial donations to Cancer Patient Services or World Renew (International Outreach Agency of the CRCNA) would be appreciated by the family.
