Puslinch residents can chime in on budget

PUSLINCH – Before council approves the 2026 budget, councillors and staff want to know how residents want their tax dollars spent.

And so the township has launched its community engagement survey on the proposed 2026 budget.

“Your feedback is important in setting priorities and guiding the vision and growth of the township,” officials state in a press release.

They also point out local tax bills include taxes for Wellington County (67 per cent), education (14%) and Puslinch (19%). The proposed budget is only dealing with the township portion of the bill.

“The completion of surveys such as the 2026 proposed budget survey helps to provide feedback to council as to what residents prefer when it comes to setting the annual budget for the year in order to maintain or improve services,” Mayor James Seeley states in a press release.

“I continue to encourage residents to join the conversation as council considers the 2026 proposed budget.”

The survey will be active on the township’s community engagement platform, EngagePuslinch.ca, until noon on Jan. 30.

A public information meeting will also take place on Jan. 21, at 7pm to receive public comments about the proposed budget.

The meeting will be held in person at the municipal office and on Zoom.

Council is expected to approve the budget on Feb. 11.
