At the start of the Sept. 18 Puslinch council meeting, CAO Karen Landry announced Puslinch Fire Chief Bob Gordon is retiring.

She said the announcement came with mixed emotions “perhaps sad for the township, but exciting for Chief Bob Gordon.”

Gordon announced he would be retiring both as chief and from Puslinch Fire Services.

His retirement from the chief’s position is effective Dec. 17 - and from the department at the end of the year.

Landry said Gordon’s significant accomplishments over the years should be recognized.

“He has had 45 years of service with the township, which is truly incredible,” said Landry.

Mayor Dennis Lever stated he anticipated more would be said at a future meeting when Gordon could be in attendance.
