Pumpkin zucchini toss in Metz
Pumpkineers big and small, come one and all to the third annual Metz Giant pumpkin growing and toss contest.
Prizes are for the largest pumpkins and zucchinis in youth and adult categories.
No registration required; just grow gigantic pumpkins and zucchini’s and show up in the fall for some fun on Oct. 23 at St. Pauls United Church, Metz, at noon.
Another highlight of the afternoon is the pumpkin toss.
Bring a catapult, or other invention and see who can toss a pumpkin the furthest.
Dr. Robert Wright has a limited supply of seed available, free of charge, for aspiring pumpkineers.
Just drop by his clinic at 6958 County Road 16, to get the seeds, but come while supplies last.
Metz is located on the 3rd Line of West Garafraxa township below Highway 9.
