Centre Wellington is holding a public meeting on March 22 regarding a Sobara subdivision proposal at the northwest edge of Fergus near Colborne Street and the Beatty Line.

The meeting is 7pm on March 22 at Aboyne Hall. The meeting includes council’s review of the draft plan of subdivision and associated zoning amendment.

The purpose of the proposed zoning amendment is to change the zoning from Future Development (FD) to Residential Exception R3A, Residential Exception R3B, Institutional (IN), Open Space (OS), and “Environmental Protection (EP)” in order to accommodate the development of a proposed draft plan of subdivision.

The draft plan consists of lots and blocks for 168 single detached dwellings, 34 townhouse dwellings, an elementary school site, a neighbourhood park, a drain corridor, a stormwater management area, a sewage pumping station site and public walkways.

The township is holding a public meeting to change the zoning of the land from Future Development (FD) to Future Development Exception to permit the development of a sales centre and model homes.

In addition to presentations by Bill Green, GSP Group, and Jeff Solly, Sorbara Group of Companies, time is being set aside for delegations.
