Public health names members of 2010 board

The Well­ington-Duf­ferin-Guelph Board of Health held its inaugural meeting on Jan, 6.

Lynda Davenport was re-elected chairman and Amanda Rayburn re-elected vice-chairman. Keith Perron was elected Secretary-Treasurer. There are four committees of the board: personnel, finance, audit, and facilities.

The 2010 Board of Health comprises the following provincial mem­bers:

- Province of Ontario ap­pointees Doug Auld and Diane Lindsey, of Well­ington County;

- Keith Perron, Guelph; and

- Amanda Rayburn, Duf­ferin County.

The elected representatives from the local municipalities are:

- Wellington: councillor John Green, Warden Joanne Ross-Zuj and councillor  Jean Innes;

- Dufferin: councillor Gord­on Montgomery and Warden Allen Taylor; and

- Guelph: citizen appointee Lynda Davenport, Mayor Kar­en Farbridge and councillor Maggie Laidlaw.

Dr. Nicola Mercer, Medical Officer of Health and Chief Executive Officer is an ex-officio member of the board, which meets the first Wednesday of every month in the Aboyne office.
