Provincial literacy grants

More people here will be able to get literacy and basic skills upgrading and training that will help open the door to a good job and a stronger future.

Ontario’s 2011 budget committed to permanently increase base funding to every literacy organization in the province. That additional funding will provide ongoing support so that groups can continue to deliver programs and serve more learners.  The following area organizations are receiving funding:

– Conestoga College Guelph is receiving $414,601 to help 212 learners;

– Action Read Community Literacy Centre of Guelph is receiving $140,790 to help 155 learners; and

– The Upper Grand District School Board is receiving $303,240 to help 252 learners.
