Portion of Wellington Road 51 to be closed until late September
WELLINGTON COUNTY - A portion of Wellington Road 51 will be closed for construction from May 6 until the end of September.
Cox Construction is the county’s contractor for the reconstruction of the road from Wellington Road 7 to Highway 6.
The road will be closed to allow for resurfacing, storm water drainage, curbing, etc.
Also part of this project will include work for the Ministry of Transportation, including installing traffic signals at the corner of Highway 6 and Wellington Road 51.
The road will be closed to traffic but residents will still have access, as well as emergency services and waste/recycling collection.
There will be a detour in place and information signs have already been posted, notes county roads superintendant Brad Hutchinson.
