Poppy distribution from legions underway
KENILWORTH - Wellington North council has declared Nov. 11 as Remembrance Day and granted permission to the Legions in Arthur and Mount Forest to distribute poppies within Wellington North.
On Oct. 21, council briefly commented on correspondence from Branch #134 Mount Forest poppy chair Ken Thompson.
In his letter Thompson noted poppy distribution was anticipated to begin Oct. 25 and end on Nov. 11.
Thompson’s letter also request staff detour traffic while cenotaph services are conducted, as in previous years.
