Ponsonby ball diamonds are being well used all season

Ponsonby Recreation Club Inc. is up and running with baseball at its park.

The group has full diamonds four nights a week. The executive is pleased that things are busy. Monday and Thursday minor league teams will be playing at 6:45pm.

Ponsonby men’s and midget girls play on Mondays at 8:45pm. The Fergus ladies fastball league is on Tuesday, a men’s three pitch team plays on Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 8pm.

Ponsonby will be hosting several tournaments this summer as well as fundraising and holding league year end tournament.

From July 8 to 10, Ponsonby Park and Groves Memorial Hospital are teaming up to host a 12 team men’s fastball tournament.

Proceeds will be shared between the two groups. Two more teams are still needed to fill the tournament.

On Aug. 13 and 14, Ponsonby will be hosting OASA provincial peewee B division championship tournament, followed by ISA atom boys year end tournament Aug. 18 to 20. In addition several other tournaments are booked at the park.
