Police: woman approached girls, offered them bikes

GUELPH – Police here are investigating after three young girls were approached last Wednesday evening by a woman who offered them bicycles.

Guelph Police Service officials say that just before 6pm on April 10, three 10-year-old girls were walking in the area of Delaware Avenue and Mohawk Drive when they were approached by a woman.

“She told the girls they were pretty and that she had new bicycles in her backyard they could have, pointing generally across the street,” police stated in a press release. “The girls continued walking to one girl’s house as the woman followed them.”

The woman was described as white, about 30 years old, tall and thin, blonde hair in a tight bun, with missing teeth and a birthmark or tattoo over her right eye. Police say she covered her eyes with her hands when she spoke.
