Police say several areas within Wellington County have recently experienced an increase in daytime break and enters.

Puslinch, Guelph-Eramosa and Centre Wellington Townships are areas criminals have been targeting.

The Wellington County OPP wants to remind residents they can take a few steps to possibly prevent a break and enter from happening to their property:

- lock doors and windows prior to leaving their home;

- secure personal vehicles and don’t leave valuables in them; and

- take note of and record descriptions of suspicious persons/vehicles in the neighborhood or that pull into the driveway and call the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

If victimized don’t enter the house or touch anything until the police arrive.
