Police seek clues after suspicious package found at Wellington North home

OPP determined the package left at night on May 5 was 'not a risk'

WELLINGTON NORTH – Police are seeking help to identify the person(s) responsible for leaving a suspicious package at a home here.

On May 5 at about 11:15pm, Wellington County OPP officers responded to a mischief complaint at a residence on Concession 9, west of Kenilworth.

“It was reported an object was thrown through a window and a suspicious package was left outside the home,” police stated in a May 6 press release.

“Officers responded and secured the area. The Explosive Disposal Unit … responded and determined that the package was inert and not a risk.

“Investigators continue to seek out the source and motive for this act.”
