Police find missing Freelton man whose car was discovered near Luther Marsh

WELLINGTON NORTH – Police say they have now found a missing person whose vehicle was abandoned near the Luther Marsh.

Wellington County OPP officials say they received a report on May 12 about the vehicle, which was found in the ditch at the corner of Line 4 and East West Luther Townline.

“The caller stated that the motor vehicle has been left there for two days before they notified the police to investigate …” police stated in a May 13 press release.

“It was determined that the driver, Matthew, 25-years-of-age from the Freelton area, was reported missing on May 10 … and was last seen by his mother.”

Police said there would be officers “in the area for a prolonged period of time as a result of the investigation/search.”

In an update later in the day on May 13, police stated “Matthew was eventually located safe.

“Wellington County OPP would like to thank everyone involved in brining this case to a successful conclusion.”
