Police looking for three suspects after weekend break-ins, thefts
About $30,000 in cigarettes, cash, merchandise taken from Guelph/Eramosa business in one of three incidents
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Police are looking for help to identify three suspects wanted in connection with several weekend break-ins and thefts at businesses in Minto and Guelph/Eramosa.
Wellington County OPP officers responded to the first incident, a break-in at a business on Highway 9 in Harriston, on March 13 at about 11:30pm.
Police say two suspects smashed a glass door and fled before officers arrived.
"Nothing was reported stolen from the business," stated a March 16 press release from the OPP.
Just 15 minutes later, at 11:45pm, police responded to an alarm at a business on Main Street West in Palmerston.
Police say three suspects smashed a glass door, "stole several cartons of cigarettes" and "fled prior to police arrival."
Ninety minutes later, at 1:15 am, OPP officers responded to an alarm at a business on Highway 6 in Guelph/Eramosa.
"The investigation revealed that three suspects had gained entry by smashing and removing the glass doors of the business," police stated.
"The suspects subsequently stole approximately $30,000 worth of cigarettes, cash and other merchandise. The suspects fled prior to police arrival."
OPP officials say the incidents "are believed to be connected."
OPP spokesperson Carly McKeown refused to identify the businesses involved when asked by the Advertiser.
They describe suspect one as a white male with a heavy build, wearing an orange hood, black sweater with white writing on arm, dark/black pants, black footwear and black gloves.
Suspect two is described as a white male with a medium build, wearing yellow gloves, black pants, black shoes, grey/light face mask, black hoodie with hood up and a hole in his left pant leg.
Police say suspect three is a white male wearing black pants, black hoodie with yellow decal on left chest, black hat, black face mask, white glove on left hand, black/yellow glove on right hand, black shoes and black jacket.
The suspect vehicle is a black Ford F150.
