Police looking for suspect in Fergus sexual assault

FERGUS – Police are looking for help to identify and catch the man responsible for an alleged sexual assault here.

Wellington County OPP officials say that on April 24 at about 9pm, a female victim was sexually assaulted in the Elora-Cataract Trailway east of Gartshore Street in Fergus by a man riding a bicycle.

“The suspect fled the scene on his bike and was last observed riding … towards Fergus,” police stated in a press release.

The OPP describes the suspect as Caucasian, about 5’10” tall and weighing 150 pounds, with sparse facial hair on his upper lip and chin, and a round face with thin lips.

He was wearing black reading glasses, a black baggy hooded sweater, black pants, and a black “beanie” hat, police stated.

“OPP canvassed the area but were unable to locate the man,” stated the press release.
