Police lay charges following intimate partner violence investigations

WELLINGTON COUNTY – Wellington OPP have laid charges in two separate intimate partner violence investigations that occurred on July 21 and 22.

Centre Wellington

Police responded to a report of a break and enter at a Centre Wellington residence around 8pm on July 21.

A July 26 press release states police “attended the scene and entered into an intimate partner violence investigation.”

An unnamed 46-year-old Southgate resident has been charged with break and enter, as well as uttering threats to cause death and assault.

Wellington North

The following day, on July 22, police responded to a reported disturbance at a Wellington North residence at around 1:45am.

Police “subsequently entered into an intimate partner violence investigation,” a press release states.

An unnamed 30-year-old Wellington North resident has since been charged with assault with a weapon.
