GUELPH-ERAMOSA – On Oct. 31 at about 3:45pm Wellington County OPP officers were conducting a RIDE program on Paisley Road near Township Road 1 here.

Police say that while speaking to the occupants of a grey passenger van, officers discovered improper plates on the vehicle. “Further investigation revealed that the vehicle was reported stolen in 2017 from Winnipeg,” police stated.

Abel Solomon Nigussie, 32, of Winnipeg, was charged with possession of property obtained by crime, driving with an open container of liquor and using unauthorized plates.

Rene Valladares Ramos, 37, of Kitchener, was charged with being an occupant of a vehicle taken without consent and having an open container of liquor in a vehicle.

Both are to appear in the Guelph court on Dec. 4.
