ROCKWOOD – Police are investigating after a man committed what police are calling “an indecent act” at Rockmosa Park on Sunday.
Wellington County OPP officers were called to the park at 4pm on May 11.
Police say “a suspicious male” was “committing an indecent act … within view of children and other members of the public.”
The man is described as dark-skinned, in his 20s, wearing a black Nike hoodie, dark blue skinny jeans and a Louis Vuitton belt.
Police want to speak with people that may have witnessed or have knowledge of the incident.

Thieves steal $30,000 worth of perfume
FERGUS – Police are looking for help to find three people responsible for stealing about $30,000 worth of fragrance products from the Shoppers Drug Mart here last week.
Wellington County OPP officials say officers responded to the store, on Tower Street South in Fergus, on May 11 at about 3:45am.
“Investigation has revealed that three suspects gained entry to the business shortly after 3:30am by smashing a front glass door,” police stated in a May 13 press release.
“The suspects also caused considerable damage within the store to glass display cases. Approximately $30,000 (worth of) fragrance products [was] stolen.”

Booze thief busted
ELORA – A Markham man has been charged and police are searching for two other suspects following the theft of over $6,000 in alcohol from the LCBO store here last week.
Wellington County OPP officials say police were called for “a theft in progress” at to the Metcalfe Street store on May 13 at about 7pm.
“Three suspects (were) actively stealing numerous bottles of premium alcohol from the back room of the business, with no regard to the business, the employees or customers inside,” police stated in a May 14 press release.
“At 7:02pm Wellington County OPP arrived on scene and observed three suspects fleeing the area. A foot pursuit ensued, and one suspect was arrested without incident, and (police) subsequently recover[ed] the stolen alcohol.”
Alexandru Popescu, 21, of Markham, was charged with theft (over $5,000)and was to attend a bail hearing.
“Two other suspects are still outstanding,” police stated. “The Wellington OPP is requesting the public to check their dashcam/CCTV footage between the hours of [5 and 8pm on May 13 on Metcalfe or Water Street East] in the hopes of capturing the identity of the two remaining suspects and/or their motor vehicle licence plate.”

Partner violence
WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police continue to lay intimate partner violence charges across the county.
Those arrested include a 25-year-old from Wellington North, who was charged with assault causing bodily harm (choke, suffocate or strangle) and four counts of assault (spousal), in relation to an incident in Wellington North on May 13.
The accused individual is to appear in court at a later date.
