WELLINGTON COUNTY – Local police continue to lay intimate partner violence charges across the county.
Those arrested include a 59-year-old from Erin, who was charged with uttering threats to cause death of bodily harm (spousal) in relation to an incident in Erin on Jan. 15.
The accused individuals are to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Driving charges
PUSLINCH – A West Perth resident is facing two driving charges after police stopped a “suspicious” vehicle here recently.
Wellington County OPP officials say that on Jan. 11 at about 1:25pm, officers “were performing a traffic enforcement initiative when they detected a suspicious motor vehicle” on Wellington Road 34 in Puslinch Township.
A 41-year-old driver from West Perth was charged with disobeying a stop sign and failing to properly wear a seat belt.
The accused is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
Suspended driver in ditch
MAPLETON – Police have charged a Quinte West man after they discovered a commercial vehicle in the ditch here on Jan. 15 at about 6pm.
Wellington County OPP officials say officers “were on proactive patrol when a tractor trailer was located in a ditch, stemming from a motor vehicle collision.”
A 50-year-old from Quinte West was charged with failing to report an accident and two counts of driving while suspended. The accused is to appear in Guelph court at a later date.
