Platt, Elwyn Douglas; Peacefully at Headwaters Hospital in Orangeville on Wednesday, April 9, 2014, with his children by his side, in his 83rd year. Predeceased by his wife of 52 years, Joyce(Redman), his brother, Dalton and his parents, Alfred and Sarah Jane(Hillis).  Loving father of Kendra Platt(John Hudson) of Breslau, and Keith Platt(Ayron) of Grand Valley. Cherished grandfather of Sofya, Garrett and Griffin. As an uncle and great uncle, he will be fondly remembered by his nieces and nephews. He will be sadly missed by his friends and other relatives. Elwyn lived in the Grand Valley community his whole life and was well-known and respected as a hard-working farmer. He will be remembered for his honesty, integrity and his sense of humour. Visitation took place on Sunday, April 13th from 2:00 p.m. – 4:00 p.m. and 7:00 p.m. – 9:00 p.m. in the Trinity United Church, King St., Grand Valley. Funeral Service was held at the Community of Christ Church, Mill St., Grand Valley on Monday, April 14th at 11:00 am. Spring Internment at Union Cemetery in Grand Valley. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer Society of Dufferin County.
