The municipality and a developer have a plan set for the additional drainage and retaining wall required for the development property at 42 Bedford Road in Guelph-Eramosa Township.

“R.J. Burnside has signed off on the plan that the developer’s engineers put forward,” said township CAO Kim Wingrove. “That’s good News.”

As of July 17 Wingrove said construction had yet to begin but the plan can be put into action at any time.

The development site has grading issues and council requested the developer bring forward a plan and provide a cost estimate for the improvements at the Feb. 2 council meeting.

Wingrove said the township has received a cost estimate for the work that will be completed.

“I think what you’ll expect to see at the next meeting or thereabouts is a request for securities reduction,” Wingrove explained. “They’d asked for securities reduction; we weren’t in a position to grant that until this other problem was addressed, so now it has been and so now they can move forward with that.”
