PINKNEY, George Albert - With his family at his side, George passed away peacefully on October 30th, 2017 at the Guelph General Hospital, in his 84th year. Predeceased by his loving wife Dorothy (nee Clyde) in 2014. Fondly remembered by his son Jim (Cathy Baker) and his daughter Ann Bayne (Ron). Caring grandfather to 9 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren. Also survived by his daughter-in-law Carol Anne Pinkney. Predeceased by his son Brian (2002) and 3 sisters. George was the former Mayor of Centre Wellington, Warden of Wellington County, Reeve of Nichol Township and dedicated family man. Friends were received at the Graham A. Giddy Funeral Home & Chapel, 280 St. David Street South in Fergus, on November 1st, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9pm. Funeral Service was conducted at Barrie Hill United Church, 5702 Wellington County Road 29, Rockwood, on Thursday, November 2nd, 2017 at 1:00pm, Rev. Lynn Hamilton officiated.
