Perth-Wellington NDP hosting annual meeting this weekend
On Nov. 13 the Perth-Wellington NDP riding association will host its annual general meeting to elect a new executive.
It will be held at the Kiwanis Centre, 111 Lakeside Drive, Stratford, from 7 to 8pm.
Executive positions to be filled are: president, vice president, CFO (federal), CFO (provincial) and secretary. The executive will be rounded out by a fundraiser, women’s representative, membership representative, youth representative and members at large. Members in good standing are eligible to stand for position and to vote.
Immediately following the meeting there will be a presentation and discussion on the federal leadership campaign (8 to 10pm). The presentation will include an overview of the process for the one-member-one-vote format of the party leadership contest, as well as a brief summary of declared candidates.
Discussion of the leadership candidates and the qualities that members will be looking for in a leader will follow. The public is invited to attend and participate in the leadership discussion. Membership applications will be available and refreshments will be served.
