CLIFFORD - Clifford and District Rotary president Trish Palmer welcomed members and guests to the club’s awards celebration dinner meeting on Nov. 5 at Gramma Jo’s Restaurant in Clifford.

Assistant governor Rosemary Davis of Goderich introduced district governor Tony Sheard and his wife Sylvia of Southampton.

Sheard said he appreciated his guided tour of Clifford remarking on the noticeable presence of the Clifford club with the clock, the park, the pavilion park and the many ongoing and special projects. He shared a glimpse of his own role in Rotary in his community and globally.

Sheard thanked the local club for making the Rotary Foundation a charity of choice. He encouraged them to tell their Rotary story and continue to do good in the community.

Sylvia Sheard invited local members to attend the district conference in June in Southampton. The event will feature workshops, guest speakers, fun and fellowship.

Palmer and Sheard congratulated three members who received awards. Merle Freeman was presented with a Paul Harris Fellowship for his work in the club. Trish Ruetz was presented with the Paul Harris Fellow Plus One for supporting her husband Randy’s Rotary involvment.

Treasurer Karen Dowler was recognized for keeping track of the club through records.
