Patrice Baker and Nancy MacNabb featured in Headwaters Arts Gallery exhibit

ALTON – Headwaters Arts presented its first Member Proposal Show of the year featuring acrylic abstract paintings by Nancy MacNabb and mixed media works by Patrice Baker.

The new exhibition showcases over 80 works and runs from April 24 to May 26.

Baker works from Fergus, is a collector, and hand-builds bronze and copper constructions that hold or compliment found objects.

“Any material is fair game, and my final work is a wall piece or shelf box that invites the viewer to step forward and look deeply into the complexities hidden within,” said Baker.

MacNabb is a retired physician based in Guelph whose work presents small stories told in vibrant colours and dynamic markings.

“Thinking and feeling meet in my art and my artistic journey has been one of experimental learning, moving from intellectual to intuition, and discovering middle ground.”

Come meet the artists at the opening reception on April 27 from 1 to 5pm in the Headwaters Arts Gallery at the Alton Mill Arts Centre.

The Headwaters Arts Gallery is open 10am to 5pm  Wednesdays to Sundays in the Alton Mill Arts Centre, 1402 Queen Street West, Alton. Visit headwatersarts.org for more information.
